Mindful movement. Embodied awareness. Finding balance from within

Yoga is more than moving through a series of postures. It's an opportunity to become curious about our bodies, to notice how we move, where we hold tension, and how even subtle adjustments can change the way we feel.

In my classes, we spend time developing that awareness.

We explore the connection between our feet and the ground, the relationship between stability and flexibility, and the subtle movements that help us find greater balance and ease.

Sometimes that means moving slowly and deliberately. Other times, we build warmth and energy through flowing movement, strength, and gentle challenges.

Throughout the practice, I encourage students to listen to their bodies, explore sensations, and develop a deeper understanding of their own movement.

My teaching is influenced by Amrita Yoga and traditional yogic philosophy, but has evolved into an approach that integrates movement, breath, mindfulness, and embodied awareness.

I generally begin each class with an intention and a loose plan, allowing the practice to evolve in response to the students who are present.

My hope is that you leave class not only feeling better in your body, but knowing your body a little better, too.

INTEGRATIVE YOGA

Mindful movement with a little more energy

Mondays | 10:00

Our Monday practice offers a balanced combination of movement, strength, flexibility, and mindful awareness.

We explore flowing sequences, standing postures, balance, and occasional Sun Salutations, always with attention to how the body feels and moves.

This class has a little more energy than Gentle Yoga, but it isn't about pushing yourself or achieving difficult poses.

It's about finding the balance between effort and ease.

I've often noticed that when we engage our bodies through movement and gentle effort, it becomes easier to release accumulated tension and settle into relaxation at the end of class.

This practice is particularly suited to students with some yoga experience, although modifications are always available.

GENTLE YOGA

Mindful movement at a softer pace

Thursdays | 10:00

Gentle Yoga shares the same emphasis on breath, embodied awareness, and mindful movement, but offers a slower pace and less physically demanding practice.

We take time to explore mobility, balance, flexibility, and the subtle sensations that help us become more aware of our bodies.

With accessible movements and opportunities for rest, this class is especially welcoming for beginners, older adults, and anyone who prefers a gentler approach.

The intention isn't to do more. It's to develop awareness and discover greater comfort and ease in the movements we make.
